made with 5140 steel
Why spend time and money reconditioning your stock 40+ year old cast rods when you can upgrade to a set of FORGED I-Beam connecting rods for about the same cost? They're forged from 5140 steel for outstanding strength and reliability and they come in press-fit. The rods are X-rayed, sonic-tested, magnafluxed, and shot-peened to stress-relieve the metal. They come with 7/16 ARP rod bolts (vs. stock 3/8" bolts) and are weight-matched for easy balancing.

"H" beam construction which is much more resistant to bending.
"H" beam construction also makes it possible to lighten
the small end of the rod, which reduces the stretching forces that
pull the rod apart. Rods are 2-piece forged from certified 4340 aircraft
quality steel. They are vacuum degassed to remove impurities. Offers
the best tensile and shear strength, strength to weight ratio, memory,
and low fatigue characteristics.

that reduces beam stress and delivers the highest strength-to-weight
ratio of any connecting rod currently available. All rods are precision-machined
using only premium mill certified aircraft quality E4340 chrome moly
alloy billets, heat treated to produce a 100% matensite grain structure.
Continual inspection, statistical process control, batch sampling
