Butler Performance built this 489 cu.in all aluminum Pontiac engine for Brad Weinman's Pro-Touring 1968 Firebird (see renderings below). It makes 900 HP on PUMP GAS, using our CNC Wideport Edelbrock heads and IAII/Butler Performance Aluminum block. We used F.A.S.T. fuel injuection and a Procharger F1R blower. The most intricate part is the one of a kind, complete serpentine pulley system which drives an alternator, AC, PS, and vacuum pump- and it all fits under a stock hood! (also notice the air inlet for the blower running under the intake- it will connect to the cowl area through the firewall). This engine will also utilize Reverse Flow Cooling. Brad wanted an engine with an almost factory-installed look, yet be powerful and versatile enough to race on both the road course and drag strip. But foremost , Brad is building a Pro-Touring car that he plans to cruise on the street. Look for this beautiful and one of a kind car to be featured in magazines and shows all across the country
